Trying something different. Carry Loads
Monday, June 30, 2025, 10:11

My carry needs are a bit varied. I carry out in the literal field about as much as I'm around folks. I may take a shot at vermin or put down a sick critter, more likely than defending myself. But I need to cover that too.

I shoot a lot of plinking fodder 9mm. I found some styles of it come with a flat tipped FMJ. That has to be better for actually shooting organic things? We flat tip those .22 RF and enjoy the gains. Why wouldn't the 9mm target ammo not benefit? Better than a poke in the eye. I've had very dismal performance from the pointy .36 cal. FMJ on animals, even small ones! I'm hoping this boosts things a little.

This is Winchester 115 gr. but SIG also markets some very similar ammo. I tried the SIG .380 that looks like this but my Kahr didn't feed it well. I think when Doug was on military contract duty abroad he was issued some FMJ that looked like this, for his Beretta 92 he was issued.
