10mm or the new 44 Mag Mountain Gun. I am a true fan of the 10mm. When the 10mm Don Johnson version came out I had to have one, so between Kase and I we ended up with almost a dozen of them.
Now I have guys that are also fans of the 10mm and tell me Alaskan guides use and carry them every day in bear country. That's fine. I am happy for them and their surviving relatives. Any yoyo that carries a 10mm in bear country has a loose screw somewhere. I have shot big bears twice with a hot loaded 510 GNR at kissing distance and still have to put in a final shot. Now plain and simple, anyone that carries a 10mm in bear country has a screw loose.
How about a 44 Mag. Well, I love my 44 mags but in bear country I want a cartridge that will put a bear down real quick, before he chews on my tender parts.
A 454 is not one of my favorite calibers but in bear country I will probably have one of my custom 454s not only on me but probably in my hand. A 454 is one of the most disrespectful cartridges around and I truly don't care for one but like I said above in bear country there will be one in my hand and normally a double action revolver like the Redhawk.
Now that I have pissed off all the 10mm freaks all I can say is you only have one life, why play games with it..
