Everyone around here keeps a “burn pile”. I have several. Usually full of snakes and varmints by the time you get around to torching it. Makes for quite a sport. Never know when a man might need to burn something. I love living out in the country.
My project this summer is rebuilding our deck. The cost is astonishing, compared to 2004 when I first contracted it. First year of “yella-wood” treated with formaldehyde rather than wonderful arsenic (which actually preserved wood). I put hundreds of gallons of Thompson water seal trying to save it. Last decade has been a loosing battle. Total rework, deck boards are a composite. Thirty-year warranty, that should do me….
