I did a quick search and found a recycle shop in New Jersey giving, today $3.15 a lb for "Brass cases"
DESCRIPTION / USES
Little plastic, dirt, or steel attached. No residue inside and without aluminum or steel shells mixed in. No live rounds accepted under any circumstances.
So you may be able to recoup some of your losses, just saying ;-)
