I was just playing around, learned a bunch

The .30-30 brass, that short is just too thick w/o reaming. The modified .41 S&W brass (basically cut down .401 Herters) worked well but headspacing HAS to be off the case mouth. The rims are way too thin since the back of the cylinder is relieved for moon clips.

A rimmed, magnum length 10mm would be nice. That's what the .401 Herters actually is. The case is 1.27" where as the rimless 10mm Mag is 1.25". A .41 S&W usually runs a bit north of 1.31". So much so close but all require fiddling.

Like I said I learned a bunch. Successful in that direction.
