But even my meager mind can see that much over 300gr begins a hard downward slope giving seriously diminishing returns. And let's forget about the horrible recoil and busted knuckles. I have a couple hundred 300 gr bullets for the 44, but I'd be hard pressed to use anything heavier than Hornady's 265 or Speer's 270. Probably any good 240gr bullet that shoots well is good for 95% of everything a man would encounter or go looking for. For that last tough 5%, then start in on the 300s.
