candle to an MP5. By far, the MP5 is the most popular SMG with the Sterling the SMG of choice for the Brits 1953 to 1995 when they switched to the MP5. The Sterling proves more reliable firing but the closed bolt roller breach MP5 if preferable. Takes a lot of debris to stop a forward advancing bolt of the Sterling though. However, I wouldn't mind one of these Ruger SMG's to mess with amongst my stable of SMG's.
