We use to shoot them in the Los Padres National Forest. I used a Browning 78 with a Lyman 36X scope.
You could lay down on a ridge and shoot the ones to the left and when they went in, move around and shoot the ones to the right. Some of the them were shot out to 400 yards.
Then we cleaned up the picnic area by Tony walking out in front of the pickup and taking the ones on the run with his trap gun. Fun times.
