a little splash(capful) of brass cleaners from Midway or some other shooting products companies. I have also put a small amount of Brasso in the mix. Run it a few minutes to even disperse it in the tumbler and put the in the brass. This mix is pretty clean on the brass and they shine up well. The Green & Red stuff you talk about is horrible and really gunks up your brass with a coating coating of whatever polishing compound they put in the mix. I through that stuff out.
