Any of the GNR's on the .348/.50 AK case are tops. The cases can be a little expensive but last the longest of any of my GNR cartridges. I use Winchester .348 brass, it's the easiest for me to fireform. Sometimes a little trimming is required but that's it. Better to have too much than too little. I make a .348 Winchester blank by filling the case to the neck with fast pistol powder and using tissue for a stopper so I don't spill it. Speer makes a 350 gr. .416 bullet that is very effective and economical that will take anything on the planet. Deer/hogs to Buffalo with ease.
You might consider the easy to overlook .440 GNR on the same case, just a little bigger. It's fantastic ability to shoot inexpensive .44 handgun bullets is great. I have been wanting to re-form some .425 Westley Richards slugs into suitable .440 GNR projectiles (410 gr. -.435" to .430"). But ditto, the .476 GNR and .475 pistol bullets and .470 Nitro Express bullets (I have NOT tried the latter but have some). *Gary's .475 GNR uses blown straight .45-70 cases for a slightly less dramatic version too. How bad do you really want to be? I also have not tried the .450 GNR that uses .458 bullets, very versatile.
But I must have have confused you. For panache and flatter trajectory, a worthy consideration for a carbine, the .416 and 350 gr. bullets would be great. Mine is 13+2" with a brake (I think). I wanted to mimic Dr. Bill Firman's Elephant taking combo for my own fun. I cast my own .416 325/375 gr. GC bullets and use trail boss for great useful fun. ANYONE could handle those and it would still shoot clean through about anything.
