down in Sedona. He stopped in the shop with a friend. His friend asked if I knew who Jack O'Conner was. I told him I did and he said this is Jack's brother. I asked him if he was a 270 fanatic too. He laughed and said just between us Jack very seldom used the 270. He had a deal with the gun company and cartridge company that he would promote that cartridge and their rifle and they would pay for his hunts with the rifle. He actually loved the 9.3 X 62 and his wife used the 7 X 57 on all their hunts. He used the 9.3 but wrote the story up that the game was taken with the 270. Take this as a second hand story but I saw no reason for the old gentleman to lie to me.
