It's really good soap, being made from coconut oil and it has citronella oil in it too to keep skeeters away. It is simply a consistent medium (given your local conditions on the bars) to view a lasting snapshot of energy transfer.

I saw the idea in a 1938 book where old handgunners were testing various rounds of the day in large bars of laundry soap. It was not comparing the performance to any game animals but simply one test projectile compared to another using the same media. Made sense to me.

*After using the soap for testing I cut it up and actually use it for washing. Keep it in sealed sandwich bags or it will dry out.
