place with the trusty M63 S&W .22 LR. I used Super-X 39 gr. Copper HP. It did the trick in the ear.

Just saying as a sort of truck gun for anything is there a hedge for arming yourself with a .22 LR, ammo wise. I like Gary's tool and the FP ammo. My biggest critique is most is subsonic from the 4" revolver. Mainly the gun application not the ammo. It would be interesting to see how many grains and the speeds if any change with that little bit of lead removed. What 3-5 grs? Maybe some FPS? Probably not worth worrying over. Interesting, I have scales and chronographs...

I used to carry CCI Stingers that are 36 gr. and go super sonic in my little 4". What would you carry if you might by complete default use a .22 for self defense? We carry it around here on the place and you never know what you might see. Just curious on various thought, no wrong answer and everyone has their opinion.
