Hello Gary:

Outfitter/Guide is George Siavelis PO Box 26 Gila, NM 88038 Website is www.alaskahuntingguide.com. George usually takes only two parties a year to the area. (2x1 or 1x1) We hunted on a lake 45 minutes by bushplane east of Cordova that's 2 1/2-miles long x 3/4-mile wide, with three inlets and one outlet. Lots of salmon in each.

First morning we saw 10 different bears at the east end of the lake, 6 of which were legally shootable--the other 4 were sow/cub. Hunted the outlet (west end) in the afternoon and saw 2-yr old twin cubs--with momma in the bush--and a lone boar with a salmon in its mouth that had a bunch of fur/skin removed from his left flank. We'd started to canoe back to camp for the evening when we saw the bruiser come out of the grass and head for the gravel to fish. We back-paddled just like they'd do in a cartoon and started the stalk. Hated to cut the hunt short, but I sure as hell wasn't going to pass up that guy.
