Opening weekend /birthday party has come and gone

Well, fun was had by all! Especially Pop! The squirrel count was lower than last year but they were just an excuse to get together anyway. My little shotgun was able to provide a mess off good eats for my Cajun bride. Many y’all tales were shared.

As for the birthday party for pop, a dear friend cooked Etoufe and the wimmen folk had cakes and pies galore. Pop is one of those people that is hard to buy for. He has hunted with one rifle for 35 years and one shotgun for 45 years. He doesn’t want or need much but gets it if be does. He could open a knife store with all that are in his collection from past Holliday gift giving. My nephew asked my opinion on getting pop a Judge for his b-day. We had both heard pop say that a judge was the only gun he would buy if he was in a buying mood. He had everything else he wanted. Good for around the pond. So the whole family and a good friend pitched in and got him one and some ammo. He was shocked and happy! He’ll be snake hunting in the morning!
