they have taken a bite and you feel an itch. I use Tea Tree oil to sterilize the wound and tick. Usually the tick drops off or is easily removed. I think the Tea Tree oil must suffocate the tick.
I tested positive for Lyme disease about 5 years ago but have no symptoms.
