Once I figured up about $900 of custom alterations...

It was much better to spend $1200-$1500 for a package custom and get so much more. Plus it can be a real beater Ruger in any caliber. I don't mind spending $500 on a nice revolver to have it modified to suit my wishes, beyond that I go full custom, no holding back.
