farther out than 50 yards, a 2X might be a bit underpowered. You have to keep that bullet within a 2" circle to put the animal down quick and if he is out past 50 that spot gets pretty small. And forget the red dot. At 50 yards it covers most of the animal's head. Useless for a precision shot.
