to both repair and bed rifles. Don't put it on anything that you don't want it on. It is impossible to get off!!! When bedding I used vasoline on the barrel and action after I had channeled the stock and then made a bed of accra glass. Worked great so I think you could fill in that hole/crack and it would be fine. If you have some wood that is close in color sand it and save the sawdust and put that in the accra glass to color it.
