Well, the Saturday sale MK III barrel started a more involved project. I added an Ultradot Matchdot II and Volquartsen parts: hammer, trigger, sear, hammer bushing, and mag follower buttons. I’m very pleased with everything. Nice to get rid of mag disconnect and now have a great trigger. The mag buttons are a nice addition, smoother and give a better purchase for loading.
The Ultradot was a gamble for me. The red dots that I have tried always appear as several dots, astigmatism. This one is very clear to my eyes. It offers several adjustments for glare with an extension tube and/or filter with varying degrees of tint. 4 dot sizes and 2 additional reticles are nice, I’m sure I’ll settle on a favorite. It also allows for changing elevation easily with an exposed knob that has a zero.
I shot 50 rounds this morning quickly. Still too much snow to get very serious. So far so good. More later.
