I have killed 2 very large bison. One over 2000lbs in Chadron NE with a 338/06 AI out 0f a 15" Encore with 225gr. Swift Aframe. 5 shots in the lungs before he went down. The second was at HHC, also large, about 1600lbs. 416 Taylor in 16" Encore with 400 gr. Swift Aframe. 3 shots in the lungs before he went down. Bison are not real challenging to hunt, but are hard to kill. My minimum would be a 410 GNR with hard cast 265gr.
