will never be another M-14 issued to today's troops. It was a good rifle and cartridge but totally useless in today's services. And if you asked 100 of our service men what gun they wanted, I doubt that even 5 of them would opt for the M-14. Our fighters today have enough gear to carry around without having to carry an 8 lb rifle plus another 10 lbs of ammo. As a comparison the '57 Chevy (and my '86 Bronco) were a great vehicle in their day but useless by all standards today. Admit it Larry, you and I are both living in the past.
