of them. To me the difference in the feel in the hand is what makes a difference. Having carried the Star PD for 40 years my hand feels perfect with that in it. Yet having hunted with and shot in combat shooting with a longslide for almost 40 years, I feel just as comfortable with it. I don't notice a difference in the weight at all even though I know it is there. If I pull a gun my mind is on why I pulled it, not whether it feels heavier or bulkier than another of my 45s. A person that shoots a lot won't notice the difference. I would bet when John Taffin picks up a 45 whether it be a lightweight commander or full size steel frame Gvt model he doesn't think of the difference. To me all 1911s feel the same in my hand.
