When I first started going to Alaska

in 2003 I bought a REI Large Square Down bag. Best investment I have ever made in a sleeping bag. I also got a extra large wide Long pad to go under it. Again very good investment. Pad fits under you pack or on top depending upon what kind of pack you have, and the bag goes into a stuff sack that is about 12 inches long by 6 inches in diameter and is very light weight. Since I was going to Alaska I got the -35 degree bag so now I use it as a comforter or as padding under me LOL. A good bad and pad for the temperature range you expect to be in is a really good investment. JMHO.
