This is just one I happened to have. I'll never forget at HHC I was resting in a stand when GNR and PUffy came along, sized up a HUGE 2500+ lb. Asain buffalo bull. Broadside at about 50 yds. Gary shot once. It looked like you flipped a switch, it collapsed instantly in it's tracks, not even a twitch. I'd shoot it in the Adam's apple and have to watchchace it all over creation, but I saw that one myself with the .41 GNR Pirate G2 rig and the little Serria bullet.

Gary loves that little jacketed bullet. I prefer cast bullets myself but they accomplish the same. My favorite for the revolver is the 260 gr. LFNGC which has a lot of the bullet nose out front of the case allowing more capacity. I also like the 255 gr. and I have a custom Corder mould in a 270 gr. that I now use. If you cannot find the Serria JFP any quality 240-270 gr. FNGC bullet will do. Many good powders for the .41 GNR from old 2400 to the more commonly used H110/296 and Lil'gun (what I've used lately). LilGun has a bit of controversy in some circles with max loads. I think the slow powder is pushed forward intensely before on fire and slamming into the forcing cone on wheelguns. Some have reported throat erosion and others say its BS. Just FYI, I'm not good enough and can't see enough to tell. For me it gives fantastic velocity at lower pressure. You HAVE to use Magnum primers.

I have only shot one animal (no pic) with the .41 GNR, a huge hog in TX. I first shot it with a 4-3/4" .475 LB and 400 gr. cast bullet at 1150 fps. It was sick and laying down about 45 yds. away. Of all things, a herd of Bison came between me and the downed animal and would not leave. I had the scoped Ruger Hunter in a shoulder holster. With a very precise sight picture with the 4X Leupold I put a 265 gr. through both shoulders and the heart/lungs. The big sow just rolled over. I saw leaves and dirt fly up on the off side some distance beyond. The bullet hardly slowed down.

The .41 GNR gives about 85% of what the .410 GNR does on the .454 Case. In a single shot the difference is greater since the platform can burn more powder but in revolvers it is about so, and you get an extra cartridge in the cylinder on a SA conversion.
