strength per unit factor that makes it quite strong and quite usable for firearms and only the cost of material and PITA of machining prevents it from being used more....but you are seeing it used more and more in the higher end firearms where this higher cost of lightweight and strength are not a factor. I have a Taurus 460 Total Titanium in 45LC with a 4" ported bbl and have zero issues with 250gr jacketed bullets at 1100 fps and that's all I want from such a light revolver. They also made them in 357mag and 41mag as well. Long discontinued due to the super elevated cost in recent years of titanium. If CarTech made the SS for the new contender frames..it isn't magic, just great engineering.
