but not by me(although I did know about it). Cartech was behind the development of the specialty stainless steel alloy that lead to the success of this revolver, at Rugers request. Without that alloy, there would be no 6 shot Ruger SuperRedHawks in 454 or 480. Maybe you do or don't know it, but Ruger did make a handful of 5 shot SuperRedhawks in 480Ruger from their normal alloys and then after a few made it into circulation they dropped it due to liability worries and hired CarTech to do it right and it was so strong they didn't need a 5 shot cylinder. Ruger has totally different liability worries than custom guys I would imagine, just due to the volume and deeper pockets. Hey, Im a proud coalcracker from NE Pa and proud of our great manufacturers...especially when they are the best in the world at stainless steel alloys...what can I say.
