and tinkering is a safe release. I have toyed with the AR platform, not because I particularly like it, it's just easy to manipulate and allows me to pursue the different calibers.

I have an infatuation with the old Winchester SL rifles that actually are not all that "good". But they are interesting, and that's enough for me. They made them from 1905 up to 1957 and they were used by sportsmen, warriors, police, prisons, very historical. I like that. The .351 is likely the very best of the bunch if you ever wanted to play with them. Just watch for cracked up forend wood unless you are good with Accraglass. You can make ammo from .38/357, Maximum, or .223 brass, .38/9mm bullets resized to .352".

Can you name all the cartridges?

I'm using Palmetto guns and BCA barrels, very conscious of rules and regulations. My latest was a .450 Bushmaster pistol. I chose it over the .458 SOCOM or .50 BW since it uses .45 Colt bullets and has superior performance with bullets from 185-405 grs. I had no cartridges so while I waited on parts and components I mocked one up from a 7mm Rem. Mag. altered on the lathe and using a 405 gr. JSP bullet (yes it can be re-sized to .452" easily). They have magazines for sale at fair prices, aftermarket followers too. I wanted to see if I could modify a standard 20 rnd. 5.56 follower to work. I didn't alter the mag, just the glass filled plastic follower. I have both on hand.

Grinding the top hump off to make a flat top follower would create holes on the right side of the follower. It is to become a single stack mag with the fat cartridges. So I fulled in the bottom cavity with JB weld. This worked fine. I don't think I lost any integrity and it's not that stressed a part anyway. This is not a combat gun nor serious hunting rig, it's for fun mostly. I'll get a more suitable mag later after the project comes together. This is just some tinkering. I'm only out a 7mm case and a $1 follower.
