Think of it as a mini-Encore with dual firing pins (rim fire and center fire, like the G1). The G2 hammer is a better design with a safety in the selector. The grip is different angle on the G2. A Encore stock or grip will fir the G2 BUT there will be a 1/8” gap on each side. It can work in a pinch. The G1 grip and frame is different. The G1 safety mechanism built into the trigger and action can be tricky. Bump it and you must reset the action. The G2 is like the Encore, no tricks.
I’m a huge fan of the late G2, although I have and have owned bunches of G1s.
