made by either Mossberg or Marlin. It is long gone now and at the time I had no idea who made the gun.

I eventually switched to my Dad's Sears semi auto made by High Standard.

My first real revolver I bought when I was 19 or so (back then you could buy a handgun if you were 18, no paperwork required). It was a High Standard Double 9, 9" barrel and 9 shot 22 LR. My hunting guns were all High Standard.

The 22 rifles were the model 29 or 30 J.C. Higgins made by High Standard.
