Way back S&W contracted ammo in their name

It was called Nycad ammo. Being encapsulated lead it initially was to reduce airborne lead at police ranges. The HP version worked fantastic in .38 Snubbies. It was basically a soft lead bullet that had been powder/poly coated. Just like the current rage. That was the late 1970’s!

It was pretty quiet till tinkers got interest going and Federal (S&W original ammo contractors???) were first I saw.

Why they don’t just stick to gray or black I’ll wonder. Guys just don’t like playing with red bullets.
