To start with there is the original 45 Super and there is the modern 45 Super witch is a +P+ load! You could change the recoil spring and the firing pin spring and it would shoot 45 Super +P+ for a while but not reliable. The recoil would get the best of your wrist and it will fail to cycle. And you will beat the gun to death. At original 45 Super performance levels you will be good to go with a spring kit, Using listed data from Hobgdon website. For a full house 45 Super I would suggest the gun be a longslide or a government with a compensator. Have the chamber maxi throated and a Sprinco Recoil Management Guide Rod system fitted, tuned to the power factor of the loads you will be shooting. Starline has 45 Super brass. If you want a state of the art 45 Super you Need on of Gary’s Longslides. One of my bucket list must have guns!
