I shoot .45 ACP's a lot so maybe that helps. But the barrel is lower to the grip than the 1911 ..feeds almost straight into the chamber from the magazine. Not quite straight but close.

I was shoot 230 gr. hardball with 6.5 gr. Unique .. not a wimpy load by any means. Felt very comfortable.
