Can be done with whichever powder you are using down the bore, provided you are using real black powder. I use 4F when i have it, but flintlocks will fire without any priming powder ( again, using real black powder).
I tried using Tripple7 as a priming powder for a Tripple7 powder charge, it worked with a very, very long delay.
I’m curious as to what projectile you are using? California lawmakers don’t know lead comes from the ground, and they believe you are shooting condors if you use lead. Therefore, if you are using lead, you are a bad person, and need to move to another state. New Mexico was good a few years ago, as was Arizona. Now i hear good things about Tennessee.
