and it would have died even further were it not for the advent of the 10mm and .40 S&W. New interest and some tooling to make the bullets in correct diameter.
It was quite popular it seems for leverguns, single shots, pumps even. The 180 gr. SP or cast bullet at a nominal 1000-1100 fps smacks pretty hard. No telling what all has been killed with them! Simply because it was what was in hand.
I am about to order a .32-20 Taylor's. The local gun guy just showed me a Colt Army in .32-20 that was about 70% original finish but mechanically perfect. But no sneaking up on him, $795 to start. But it's a DA. On a $500 budget I can do the spaghetti wheelgun and not worry about wearing the blue on it.
