This certainly includes Elmer Keith. He had the vision to see the Heavy Loaded 44 Special and eventually the 44 Magnum. But, missed a few things.

But, Jack O'connor always hunted with a 270 Winchester too. Yeah, Right...

The 38-40 and 44-40 are so overlooked. Lots of this is from gun writers past who wrote silly stuff about bullets bouncing off of critter. The same BS is going on now over the 40 S&W.

I've got several 38-40s that are as formidable as any modern "Magnum."
