I think Sean gave me the old article collection I was searching for so long ago. For a while back in the 1980's-90's I truly savored the G&A articles. They were gold. No real mainstream internet back then so the monthly articles had real validity. I can't believe that was 25 years ago. They were the only available resource for such advanced topics and refreshed every 30 days! Seyfried seems very opinionated but that is OK, aren't we all to a degree. I really appreciated his spirit of searching and experimenting. He hunted with Elmer Keith as a boy so that may have been an influence. Keith was opinionated too so I see a pattern.

No secret that Seyfried thought the .45 Colt was THE cartridge. I know lots of guys like it, I'm more of a .44 guy but Seyfried had this crazy perspective and objective. Sort of making it the ultimate hammer beyond anyone's imagination. It is versatile and still valid. If you have a strong .45 COlt you don't HAVE to go out and buy a Megga-magnum. You are closer than you thing. He regularly chimed that his .45 Colt in the field was the full equivalent of the .300 Magnum rifle IF he did his part.

Just for discussion....

*I see this Bowen custom seems to have some curious features. The barrel band sports interchangeable front sights. The band also keeps the ejector housing from flying off under recoil. The frame window sure looks filled up, longer cylinder (he touts the 5-shot). Curious that the South West 1/3 of the gun looks totally stock. Factory gripframe, trigger guard opening, and stocks/grip shape. The Ruger Bisley was a leap ahead. Now it looks unfinished to me as a project. Maybe with time we just continued refinements. I see many of my Reeder project guns with these notable features addressed and more evolved. Get it while you can, there is a line.
