Off the frame of our guns sometimes. The stresses it might expound. On the frame or on the barrel (single shot or Ruger Hunter) it adds to the whip under recoil.
I too played with dual metal bullets. I finally torched the mould with both in it to re-melt and try to get them to stick. Very laborious.
The two part Lyman mold where you “glue” the pieces together is a brilliant idea that did not catch on. Easier to just pay a man $3-$4 each for a premium JSP and go on. But that’s not near as satisfying or fun.
Ross was in his 50’s in the 1990’s so he’s mid-70’s at least.
