The original one I had was a north-face. Heavy coated bottom nylon with grommets in the corners , so it could be staked in if you where on a slight slope. The top was a breathable nylon that made a nice sheet in warm weather. You can get them in Gore-Tex now. I still have the North Face one from the 70’s I had as a kid. I use the Gatewood cape now, it packs smaller than a tarp and is more weather proof. I carry it mostly on day trips hunting as a just in case I have to spend the night in the woods.
