Jim I appreciate the comments as I too have noticed different reactions with not just deer but with lots of different animals. Even with my 454 shooting Swift Aframes 300gr @1550fps
hog ran 50yds with top 1/3 of its heart blown away.
Aoudad that have been textbook shots jump and run usually short distances with one or both front shoulders taken out.
The Corsican Ewe that took a hit at 55yds double lung, didn’t jump or run. Simply turned and walked about 30yds and laid down under a tree and died.
Cast? Like you said hmmmm go figure. one of my favorite hip guns Ruger BH 4-5/8” with a 335 cast LWNFP @1200fps (leadhead bullets) combo
always been accurate for me. sometimes it doesn’t take much to miss that precise spot of aim. A little high on a doe a few years back left me watching her as she’s blowing blood out the lungs hiding behind a tree. what was a perfect broadside opportunity at 60yds, now becomes the money shot at 75, Done deal and left the two hunters and the guides son, talking to themselves. shot placement is paramount
