But even some that are not, I sometimes see if I can make a silk purse from a sow's ear. Just for my fun.

I bought this from a fellow that needed some money for $150. I thought it was fair. A pot metal full size SAA Hawes .22 from the 1960's. By golly it shoots! IF you could see the sights. It needs grips too. I'm opening up the rear and have it pretty well centered. It hits 8" low, but that's great! I can easily trim down the front sight to raise impact perfectly.

It needs grips made then a blast and bake finish. It easily shoots 2-3" groups at 25 yds. leaning against the truck. It's a fun gun and great SA practice.

Another rescue from my youth. I think the barrel work cost me $37.50. Old Orville Sutton, a Korean War Vet and self trained successful gunsmith. A silly amount to spend on a $50 revolver. I did the scope myself. A friend gave me a .22 Mag. cyl. that dropped right in. Hitting a 100 yd. gong offhand is great delight. If you look close in good light you can see under the Gun-kote "Rem...550" on the 8" barrel.
