but I have shot many .303. The biggest issue for me was case head separations. Even with the moderate level .303 British loadings. I tried only neck sizing but the old SMLE action had enough give in it that eventually you will still get that bright ring or a crack just ahead of the case web. But you usually get several loadings from a case. IF you neck size only. Otherwise you do good to get 3-4 loadings from your brass. (SMLE have numbered bolt "heads" to adjust headspace)

I have also conjured the issue from the .405 case BUT it was by running two guns in the same caliber at the total edge of maximum. I had to FL size due to small differences in chambers and the need to ensure reliability for hunting. Still I got 5-6 loadings before I got concerned.
