to get that middle knuckle away from the back of the trigger guard. The Bisley Gunfighter grip is a very good gripframe and I have it on most of my hunting revolvers BUT it does bash the middle knuckle on hot loads. The Magnum gripframe gives you about 3/8" extra space between the back of the trigger guard and your knuckle.
