a flat nose meplat really helps with straight and true penetration. I'm told there is a point of diminishing returns, or full wadcutters would be all the rage. In fact I used to arm my wife with 148 gr. HBWC in her little carry 637. You could do worse.
Some friends who really think they know, tell me somewhere between 70-75% meplat, in relation to diameter, is about as far as you want to go to retain long range stability. Sounds good to me. But it seems any flat point, even if you carve it with a pocket knife on a bullet seems to help some. It begs, what does a full wadcutter do at extreme range?
