As listed in an ancient Lyman manual from mid-last century, 20 grs. W/filler wad (Dacron stuffing square) and a nominal 500 gr. bullet (512 gr. actually) was spot on running right at 1025-1030 fps from the 29” barrel. It grouped well but to the left, and my set trigger stopped working (?!).
Seems like a great low pressure load with power right where I needed it. Faster speeds (1200-1400 fps) will need more of a slower (med.-rate) rifle powder. H322, IMR3031 etc. H4227 is too fast for much faster speeds with that big bullet.
