for my contender 16" barrel i've been using 30-33 grains of 3031 with eather a340 or a 405 cast bullet and a small square of dacron wadding the 340s with 33 grains go 1250fps and the 405 with 33 grains go 1100+ fps. recoil isnt that bad i can shoot about 10 rounds in 1 session before i call it quits. the 30 grains loads are almost mild .i've tried 34 grains and recoil in that light 16" carbine is starting to get snappy
