I picked up a mount that replaces the rear sight and holds a Burris fastfire. Got the fastfire last week, have not mounted it yet. Got stalled out on gun projects. Thinking it might be the way to go for old eyes and longer shots.
That rifle was a Saturday sale bargain. Black chromex, Color case receiver and lever. I miss those Saturday sales.
Shot nice from bench with some Remington factory 150 grain that came from Wal Mart last year, $8 box. Could not afford to make up brass for that price. Now I got brass all formed to the chamber. A nice thing with the 30GNR and 7GNR is being able to shoot factory loads. My 7GNR contender barrel shoots about 6" lower @100 yds. with windage right on, using factory 7-30 Waters.
