So far. Got the fireformed brass to load. It's the only Winchester 94 I have. Compared to my Marlins, I think they are more my style. But the Win. is light thin and easily carried.
Went on a hunt in the Maine north woods once with an older fellow whohad inheritedhis dad's camp there. He was carrying his dad's very old 94 in 30-30. He offered to sell it to me, I said let me see it. As I looked at it, you could see the imprint of his dad's hand on the receiver worn through the bluing from the years of carrying. I pointed that out and said your father left his mark on this rifle. Teary eyed he then said he would never part with it.
Then went on to relate some tales of deer taken with it.
I always liked the way a lever gun carries.
