I Had a Couple of Them

Old original, pre 1898. I had onere-barrelled to 40-90 Sharps Bottleneck, used it for “black powder cartridge” shooting back in the 1990s. The other was a Remington 12.something millimeter that someone had re-chambered to 50-90. It had a bad spot in the chamber and would split the brass cartridge case when fired. I gave that one to a friend that i worked with, and he had it re-barreled to 45-70. He really liked that rifle, and i believe it was the only firearm he owned.
Generally lighter in weight than a Sharps, and old ones have square threads ( like Acme threads on a vice), and you have to cut the extractor groove down the side of the threads. I haven’t seen a metal shaper in many years, everyone uses mills now (oops i’m rambliing)
