the .45 Super Duper loads. Blake was going .45 Super on the 1911 platform with jacketed bullets so I went totally a different way. I modded a Glock 21 and used cast gas checked slugs. They are slicker and go just as fast with less pressure.

It was a bad idea but I scoped a G21 and shot 200 gr. at 1400 fps. Due to the very heavy 26# spring, lock up was very consistent. Accuracy was shocking! Ragged hole groups at 35 yds. The frame was flexing but snapping right back. I got rub marks on top of the slide where the mount was rubbing under recoil.

Now it had very intensive and sort of experimental modifications such as special long free-bore throating, the heaviest recoil spring, and a special chambered muzzle brake. The high performance would obviously come at a price of much greater wear too. For a dedicated hunting pistol that was not as big a deal, shooting a few hundred rounds rather than thousands.

The bottom was stock other than a hand stoned trigger bar with minimal but reliable overtravel. But other than bending the scope mounting through pin it was astonishingly accurate and powerful!
